The School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Patras has extensive and modern facilities in Messolonghi and Agrinio . Its infrastructure has been designed to fully meet the educational, research and social needs of the School, offering a comprehensive environment for learning, research and student life.
Infrastructure in Messolonghi
The facilities of the School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Patras in Messolonghi extend over a total area of 800 acres. To support the educational, research and social needs of the School and its Departments in Messolonghi, the following facilities are available:
Classrooms
The space has fifteen classrooms available with a capacity of 60-120 people, equipped with modern supervisory and audiovisual equipment suitable for supporting teaching, presenting research work and conducting educational activities.
Laboratory Facilities – Experimental and Research Infrastructures
The site has more than thirty modern, fully equipped laboratory spaces with 20–25 seats, as well as an experimental field, botanical garden, greenhouses, fish breeding station, aquariums, in order to support laboratory exercises, research programs, the preparation of thesis and internships by students and the development of innovative research activities in areas such as Aquaculture, Fisheries Management, Ecology, Environment and Agricultural Production with the prospect of increasing production, improving quality, increasing biodiversity, optimal management of natural resources and reducing the environmental footprint.
Event venues
At the School’s facilities in Messolonghi there are two amphitheaters with a capacity of 500 and 250 people respectively, suitable for educational lectures, conferences, scientific events and cultural activities.
Restaurant
A restaurant is available within the premises to feed the students of the School who study in the Departments of Messolonghi .
The restaurant operates daily, meeting all hygiene and safety standards, ensuring quality and balanced nutrition for students according to the monthly feeding program of the University of Patras.
Student Housing
Thirty-eight (38) individual student dormitories are available within the space . The dormitories are fully furnished, while at the same time, in order to ensure quality living conditions and student well-being, they have:
- Wireless Network in all areas of the hostel.
- Computer Center (12 seats) for study and work.
- Shared entertainment area,
- Laundry and support areas for daily needs.
Library
The School’s premises in Messolonghi operate an organized Library, suitably designed for quiet study and to support the academic activity of students and researchers. It provides students with access to a wealth of printed and digital material, as well as to international electronic databases.
The space has a Reading Room and a Computer Center for searching the University of Patras Library catalog, preparing assignments, and serving those who do not have a personal computer.
A Wireless Network is provided in all areas of the Library for access to the internet and the services of the Central Library of the University of Patras using laptops, mobile phones or tablets.
Sports Facilities
For student sports activities, there are sports facilities available, which include:
- Outdoor basketball and tennis courts.
- Indoor basketball and volleyball court, which has a weight room and exercise equipment
Infrastructure in Agrinio
To support the educational, research and social needs of the School’s Departments in Agrinio, two two-story buildings are available , within which there are:
Classrooms
There are eight classrooms available with a capacity of 70 -95 people, equipped with modern supervisory and audiovisual equipment suitable to support teaching, the presentation of research work and the conduct of educational activities.
Laboratory Facilities – Experimental and Research Infrastructures
Modern laboratory spaces fully equipped to support laboratory exercises, research programs, the preparation of student theses and internships, and the development of innovative research activities in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology.
Event venues
At the School’s facilities in Agrinio there is an amphitheater with a capacity of 220 people , suitably configured for educational lectures, conferences, scientific events and cultural activities

The School’s premises in Agrinio operate an organized Library, suitably designed for quiet study and to support the academic activity of students and researchers. It provides students with access to a wealth of printed and digital material, as well as to international electronic databases.
